Creekside Farm is about living close to and reconnecting to the earth, more aware of the cycles of the seasons, the rain, and the sun, how our food is grown and where it comes from. It's an attempt at getting back to a simple, honest way of living, and The Living Farm, the animals, and agriculture become a feature that connects the neighborhood to the land and its history. It's not just development for the sake of development. It's mindful development that adds to the quality of life and our connectedness to nature. And sometimes, when the sun is setting over the hilltops, it's nice to just sit on the porch and watch the corn grow.
Creekside Farm has set aside acreage of land within the community for a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program. The CSA program is working with the Cliffs Organic Farm, The Tavern Restaurant, and our own CSA members to bring a truly farm to table amenity to the Cliffs at Walnut Cove members and residents. You'll know where your food comes from... about a #2 iron away.
The New Agri-Hood: Connecting People to the Land
Creekside Farm is working toward creating a residential model that combines mindful development with sustainable agriculture that will help retain the lands rural, pastoral beauty, and connect people to the land and our farming heritage in WNC.
Creekside Farm is offering a limited number of 12 farm home sites within the gates of The Cliffs at Walnut Cove that are across the road from a 50 acre working, producing farm and vegetable gardens. Six acres have been set aside for a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program, with more land available as the program grows, and currently feeds 65 families while it donates boxes of fresh produce to a local food bank every week.
Creekside Farm at Walnut Cove offers a sense of community and connectedness to the land and to nature, to where our food comes from, and to the history of a place.
Creekside Farm is a member of the Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Project (ASAP) and the grow local movement in WNC.

Creekside Farm is a member of The Voluntary Ag District Preservation Program (VAD) that strives to protect farm land for future generations thru commitments from farmers to keep farm land in agriculture and not develop it for other non farm purposes.
Creekside Farm grew out of a 60 acre working farm that's been around for one hundred years. As a reflection of the growing trend toward New-Urban Agrihoods, Creekside Farm is "mindful development" with roots in protecting the environment and a way of life. At Creekside Farm you can connect to nature, to the farm and its pastoral beauty, to community supported agriculture and to how your food is grown. All of this within the gates of The Cliffs at Walnut Cove.
